Secure & Small Backup Files
To save disc space and make backup management easier, all backups are compressed by default. TK8 Backup uses the popular ZIP compression algorithm, meaning you have full access to the data backed up, even without TK8 Backup.
If you have data you don't want to compress, you can disable the compression for some or all of the backup tasks. In that case the program will make a direct copy from your files.
Security is the one particular benefit of compressed backups. Your backup files can be password protected, which means that you don't have to worry that someone else will get them. To access the data, the correct password must be entered.
For extra security, TK8 Backup can additionally encrypt backup files with the same AES 256 algorithm the US government uses to protect their top secrets. Encrypted backups can only be restored using TK8 Backup, making them even more safe from hackers. Even with 1000 computers working 24/7 it would take 69235 years to open an encrypted backup.
